The employment story behind the capital story: what is hiring now, what hires next, and which numbers are actually sourced.
About 21,000 jobs are cited for the Tata Semiconductor SEZSpecial Economic Zone: a notified area treated as outside India's customs territory for authorised operations. at Dholera, notified around April 2026 on 66.16 hectares, per Business Standard and Times of India reporting.
What is verifiable about Dholera jobs today
The honest core is the SEZ figure above DURABLE on the notification, with the jobs number as reported. Around it sit construction-phase employment on the fab, expressway-linked logistics work, the solar park build and the coming airport operations, real but not yet published as clean headcounts. Where a number does not exist, this page says so instead of inventing one.
The jobs machine, in sequence
- Now: construction. A Rs 91,000 crore plant and a 700 MW solar build employ site labour, contractors and engineering services first.
- Late 2026 to 2028: operations begin layering in: airport staff after opening TARGET, fab technicians toward commercial production in 2028 TARGET.
- Beyond: the multiplier. Fabs anchor materials plants, gas plants, testing shops, logistics and housing. The register already shows that chain forming.
Who should watch this page
Engineers and technicians weighing semiconductor careers, contractors scoping the construction economy, and anyone in Ahmedabad's labour market within reach of the corridor: the expressway put Dholera about 109 km from the city, and the cleared rail link TARGET is designed to make daily commuting realistic by the early 2030s.
We will publish verified hiring signals as they become sourceable. Job boards and recruiters claiming Dholera placements should be verified directly with the named employer; this record lists no unverified openings.
