Dholera's fab was promised at 28nm. It now opens mostly at 90nm.

Bloomberg reported on 17 July 2026 that Tata Electronics will open its Rs 91,000 crore Dholera plant largely on the 90nm node rather than the 28nm announced in 2024, with commercial production in mid-2028. Tata says the plan always started at 55nm and 90nm. The Tata Sons chairman's own annual report says the company chose to start at 28nm. Both cannot describe the same plan.

Analysis

What the ASML MoU actually signals

A lithography MoU is not a tool order. It is still the strongest non-government signal the fab has received. Here is how to weigh it.

Gases, materials, lithography, power. Fabs are ecosystems, and the ecosystem arriving is the strongest evidence the anchor is real.

How this record works. Three rules, no exceptions: numbers only from sourced and dated material, with unknowns stated as unknown. Neutrality on every named developer and company. Tier tags on every claim: DURABLE confirmed and built or building, REPORTED announced or MoU stage, TARGET a stated date, scored when it arrives. Full policy: editorial standards.
