The Dholera SEZ file: what was notified, and what the three letters change

SEZ is another acronym doing unexamined work in Dholera marketing. The notified fact is specific, dated and small enough to fit in one sentence; the regime behind it deserves the rest of the page.

The notified fact

Around April 2026, the Tata semiconductor project's ground at Dholera received Special Economic Zone notification: 66.16 hectares, about 21,000 jobs cited DURABLE on the notification and as-reported on the jobs figure. Notification is the operative word: an SEZ is not a marketing zone or a vibe, it is a legally demarcated area under India's SEZ framework, brought into being by a specific government act of notification, with a boundary you could walk.

What the SEZ regime actually changes
