The energy layer: what Dholera's renewables build-out actually looks like

Every industrial city promises power. Dholera's distinction is that a meaningful slice of the promise already generates, and the pipeline behind it has a government paper trail.

~300 MW

About 300 MW of solar capacity is operational at Dholera, commissioned by Tata Power Solar on what the company describes as India's largest single-axis tracker installation, against a 1,000 MW Phase 1 solar park target.

The operational base

Tata Power Solar's ~300 MW at Dholera is generating today DURABLE, which sounds unremarkable until you audit how rarely Indian greenfield-city energy claims cash out into commissioned megawatts. The plant's single-axis tracker scale is a company claim worth noting; the commissioned capacity is the load-bearing fact. The company file keeps its record.

Energy in ledger terms: operational megawatts sit in the confirmed column, hydrogen headlines do not.

The pipeline with a paper trail

Phase 1 of the solar park targets 1,000 MW TARGET. The Central Electricity Authority's September 2025 quarterly report logs 700 MW under development toward it, awarded across ReNew, SJVN, Vena and TEQ Green with Gujarat Power Corporation as agency, targeted for March 2027 DURABLE on the award and log entry, TARGET on the completion date. A CEACentral Electricity Authority: the official logger of power projects under development. log is the kind of source this record exists to elevate: unglamorous, official, dated, and worth more than any launch event. The ReNew file also shows how this pipeline intersects the manufacturing story via supplier announcements.

Why the megawatts matter beyond the meter

  • Fab procurement: semiconductor plants are continuous heavy loads with sustainability mandates; adjacent green generation strengthens the anchor's operating case DURABLE.
  • Data centre courtship: every plan on the data centre page leads with green power access; the live and pipeline megawatts are Dholera's opening argument in those conversations.
  • Execution signalling: the solar park is the corridor's quiet proof-of-work: awarded, logged, building, on a public schedule the ledger can score in March 2027.

The hydrogen layer, labelled hard

Reliance Industries' MoU with the Gujarat government covers a reported ~Rs 5.95 lakh crore renewable and green hydrogen program across Gujarat, naming Dholera among sites, with a 100 GW ambition REPORTED. The number is state-wide, the instrument is an MoU, and the Dholera-specific allocation is not publicly broken out, three reasons it sits in the announcement tier and appears here without a single adjective attached. If site-specific commitments emerge, they will be filed like everything else: with a date, a source and a tier.

The honest gaps

Grid integration detail, transmission build-out schedules and industrial tariff structures at Dholera are not documented in this record's sources, so this page does not improvise them; the power infrastructure guide holds what is knowable and names what is not. The disciplined summary: one of India's more credible city-scale renewable programs, one operational third, one logged and building third, and one target-shaped third, with the hydrogen headline kept safely in its announcement box.
