The claims we went looking for and could not confirm

Publishing what you could not verify is unusual and it is the most useful thing a record can do, because it tells readers exactly where the confident-sounding internet runs out of evidence.

Claim one: the fab is 50% complete

Assertions that construction "crossed the halfway mark" or reached "50% completion as of April 2026" circulate widely. We found them only on Dholera property and search-optimised sites, never traced to a company statement, a government report or tier-1 reporting REPORTED at best. Set against the documented late-2025 foundation redesign, a confident completion percentage from a source that sells plots is not evidence.

Claim two: foundations are complete and cleanrooms are being installed

Same category, same absence of primary sourcing. What is verifiable on the build side is narrow and worth stating for contrast: geotechnical specialists Fugro, Cengrs and Geo Dynamics were engaged to redesign the main fab foundations after soil testing (Economic Times, 28 November 2025), and Malaysian cleanroom specialist IAQ Group was onboarded to design and install the cleanroom (Economic Times, June 2026) REPORTED. Onboarding a cleanroom contractor is not the same event as cleanroom installation being underway, and the gap between those two statements is where most Dholera progress reporting quietly lives.

Claim three: named EPC contractors

Despite targeted searching, we could not verify any publicly announced main EPC or civil-works contractor for the Dholera fab. Several large Indian engineering names circulate in association with the project; none is confirmed by a primary source. This is a genuine negative finding and it is stated as one.

Claim four: equipment orders

No confirmed, valued semiconductor equipment purchase orders for Dholera are public. The ASML relationship is a Memorandum of Understanding announced by both parties on 16 May 2026, as our partner file records. We found no announcements of orders from other major equipment suppliers. For a fab targeting commercial production in mid-2028, the absence of public tool orders is not alarming on its own, since such orders are frequently unannounced, but it does mean anyone citing tool deliveries as evidence is citing something that is not on the record.

Claim five: specific site utilities

Claims describing a dedicated substation on a named utility's smart grid, a high-purity recycled industrial water line, and dedicated chemical and gas delivery lines appear on low-authority aggregator sites without primary confirmation REPORTED. The verifiable utility facts are the ones on our water page and power page, and they are considerably less specific.

What this page is for

Two things. First, so that a reader who encounters any of these claims elsewhere knows immediately what evidentiary weight to give them. Second, as a standing invitation: if a primary source exists for any claim above, the desk will publish it with its date and correct this page visibly. That is the arrangement our standards commit to, and unverified is a status, not a verdict.

The broader lesson generalises past Dholera. In any market where information is produced mostly by sellers, the confident specific detail is the thing to distrust first, because specificity is what persuades and it is also the cheapest thing to invent.
